 Dremel Digilab 3D56 Product Overview

The DD 3D56 3D printer is a great printer for industrial use as well as for High Schools and Art Galleries. The sleek black design gives the appearance that it is meant for a big tech company. This model is fast, easy to us and can make small people, symbols and musical instruments and the results are amazing. The printer is meant for use straight out the box. Get ready to walk around this product and check it out.

Pros of The Dremel Digilab 3D45

  1. Easy set-up-
  2. Color touchscreen display
  3. Semi-automatic bed leveling
  4. Enclosed power supply and electronics
  5. Network printer with WIFI connection with HD camera

Cons of The Dremel Digilad 3D45

  1. Using non-Deremel filaments hard to use
  2. Removing prints from the glass bed
  3. Cannot adjust the temperature must stop the printing first
  4. Feeding the filament is awkward
  5. Limited on colors choices

Enclosure

The Dremel designed the case to use only Dremel. Using other filament will be awkward in putting them. You will have to come up with another way to insert if you chose to use a non-Dermel filament. There are a few of free designs for holders for Dremel printers. You can see this at thingsverse.com.

User Friendly

Outside of producing excellent work. The biggest advantage of this product is that it is easy to use right out the box. You may think 3D printing is a bit cumbersome until you get the hang of it. You will use your “slicers” or better known as the printer’s software.

The user can optimize settings for favorite filament. Once the files are ready, you have a choice on how to load the printer. Via Wi-Fi connections send it to fro, your computer. It may however go a bit slow just depending on what type of filing is transferring.

Nice tool in a Dremel 3D45

Dremel 3D printer measure up? Yes it does, actually. Unlike many cheap, imported printers that often need a lot of fussing to get right; the 3D45 is a solid product. Although there are industrial grade machine out there, this product can be consider a product used by people like engineers.

The product is has a sleek design and it has custom molded part. Whereas many other 3D prints have several parts to contend with. The Dermel has trinamic driver and the system is quiet.

Conclusion

The Dremel 3D45 model is a good product created by a trusted company. This 3D printer is one that truly works. If you in the market for a 3D printer I would consider this one.

Coming with the easy set up and molded parts this 3D printer is a good choice. If woodworking is your thing, being able to use different materials that create tougher parts is a plus. This is a product that all members of the household can use it.

You mention that 3D printers are getting smaller, what are the physical dimentions of a typical 3d printer these days?

    • Cherry Parks

      Derek,
Although, 3D printers are in the mainstream it is still a product that is not found in many homes. The dimensions are about 230X150X500MM and below and range int between 50 and 20 pounds. I hope this helps.

This is such an interesting review, about a product I know very little about.
The Pros and Cons helped me ‘get’ that there were different features, particularly the Easy to set up & will connect to WIFI.
What does – Feeding the filament is awkward mean?

    • Cherry Parks

      Honor,
In this model that I chose to review, the makers create a filament specifically for this 3D printer. If you think of filament as ink in a regular printer it should give you a better visual. This 3D printer can use other filament (ink) and the filament may be too small or too big to place it where the filament goes. If it doesn’t fit exactly you would have to prop it up in away so the filament can still go through the printer. Of course, buying the intended filament would be the best but it does cost more than other brands.

Hi Cherry, I enjoyed the previous article about the history of 3D printers and this one. Your review was very well done, giving us a lot of information to make a reasonable decision. My son is in the market for one of these so I will forward your web address to him.
